  • Hatha Yoga

    Hatha yoga is a branch of yoga that consists of a system of exercises to obtain mastery over the mind and especially the body. In the West it is mainly this form of yoga that became known, which often hatha yoga means when it talks about yoga.

    Hatha yoga is a physical yoga variant for the most part consists of the practice of postures (asanas) and breathing techniques (pranayama). Hatha yoga consists mainly of non-moving asanas. Meditation is one of many yogis an important conclusion for the unity of body and mind feel. Atman in other physical forms of yoga such as ashtanga vinyasa yoga (power yoga), the asanas are not static but moving, often by different asanas in series in a row to perform. Hatha yoga also has some series, the Sun Salutation is the best known.

    In the West, hatha yoga a particularly popular way to relax or reduce stress. In addition to the techniques beneficial effects attributed to the nervous system, glands and other organs and occurs in a general relaxation of the body. The goal of hatha yoga in the West is therefore primarily to promote the health and wellbeing.
